Point Breeze.

Point Breeze is best explored through its residential blocks, recreation spaces and public art. Wharton Square and the We the Youth mural provide concrete starting points for understanding a neighborhood whose character changes from street to street.

More than a name on the map.

Keith Haring’s We the Youth brings a notable collaborative artwork to an ordinary residential setting near 22nd and Ellsworth. Wharton Square offers a larger neighborhood open space, while Chew Playground marks the Washington Avenue edge. A route connecting these places keeps the visit grounded in public art and everyday recreation instead of relying on broad claims about the area.

THE EVERYDAY PICTURE

The streets. The rhythm. The practical details.

Architecture & atmosphere

Continuous rowhouse blocks, corner buildings and newer construction create a varied streetscape. The diagonal Point Breeze Avenue interrupts the numbered-street grid, while park edges offer a more open perspective.

Getting around

Broad Street’s B subway is east of the interior blocks, and buses provide other approaches. Compare the actual walk or connection from each candidate address.

Make your visit count

Start with the mural, then walk toward Wharton Square on a route that includes a prospective home’s block. Observe building setbacks, nearby uses and the length of your transit approach. Check current recreation access before planning to use a particular playground facility.

A QUESTION TO BRING WITH YOU

Would you trade a longer approach to Broad Street for a location closer to Wharton Square?
